Archit is Straight

On friday after the practicals were over everyone was breathing a sigh of relief so many of us had brought external hard disks to exchange movies. I sat at the admin around 1 and i met aditya vishwakarma he too had his external hard disk so we sat down and started exchanging movies. He suggested me to take Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008 high definition video but i said NO. Seeing us there Rohil came along a lot of movies were exchanged. Rohil went away but there were more and more people coming we were like a bee hive as all the near by bees were being attracted there. In between all this archit had given me his 4gb pen drive to me and asked me to put in a few movies and he had left to play pool.

Ultimately hemant had come and gone now only siddharth, aditya vishwakarma and me were left with 2 hard disks connected to 1 laptop things were getting messy as it was getting tiresome as it was already 3:15 and we were still sitting at the admin freezing our asses without food. Then finaly aditya left (sid and i breathed a sigh of relief as we could see an end to our misery) but alas anant came by and asked "which movie do you have?"

Sid could not contain his laughter as my hard disk of 80gb has nearly 60 movies and to tell him which movies i had would have been a pain in the ass. So we gave him fight club and quantum of solace and pirates 2. Finally when we are about to pack up i remembered about archit's request and i asked sid to put in 4 to 5 movies in archit's pen drive but we were damn tired so sid said no and then i asked anant to put in the movies which we had given him.

He agreed but added that why dont we change the names of the movies which we transfer to his pen drive to which all of us agreed. The name of Quantum of Solace had been changed to "Gay scenes from Brokeback Mountain" and an episode of duck tales was renamed as "Quantum of Solace" and another movie Young Frankestein was added. This according to us was a test to find out whether archit was straight or not.

And we can safely say he passed the test with flying colors he straight away deleted the movie with title "Gay scenes from Brokeback Mountain". I am sure all those who know archit can breathe a sigh of relief(all those who know archit well can understand).

Anil Kapoor & Yuvvraaj

Before you read this i want to tell you that this is not the review of the movie as havent seen as of yet.

I was recently having a chat with one of the girls in my neighborhood and topic diverted to yuvvraaj and its chances at the box office(this was way back when yuvvraaj was released, even while i am writing this i am not sure whether yuvvraaj is hit or flop). I said the movie has a good chance as the music seems to be good plus being a multi starrer it fares a good chance. She said i want to watch the movie as "Anil Kapoor" is in this movie. And i was like WTF Anil Kapoor, i mean who likes Anil Kapoor. After realizing i was quiet for a minute she added that Anil Kapoor was 1 of her favourite actors. After being dumstruck once again and i tried controlling my urge to laugh out loud i respected her opinion and said it is ok.

I narrated this incident to Nidhi and Deepank and they could not stop laughing(i can already hear critics like sid saying why cant she like Anil Kapoor. My answer to them m2l2 he is definitely not my favourite..). But wih all due respects to him one has to admit he has been in the industry for quite some time and has produced a few hits occassionally like "Ram Lakhan" , "Mr. India" , "No Entry" etc but then again he is NOT my favourite.

PS: I have been reading Abhinav Bindra's blog and few other blogs and i kind of feel disappointed with my lame effort of writing on my blog i mean whatever topic they write on they end up getting more than 170 comments. Lets hope things change on my blog too.(I can already see people like Ashwin saying who writes for other people, I used think like this too but after talking to sid things have changed it feels good to get appreciated for writing on the blog so i guess i want that appreciation).

A Poem

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three
The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine
For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic
I know I’ll never see the sun,
as 1.7321
Such is my reality,
a sad irrationality
When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three
As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer
We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands
Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed.

PS: I took this poem from the movie Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.The movie is nice you should try to watch it.

To have a Girl Friend in College

Today i had a discussion with my friend whether it is a nice idea to have a girlfriend that too who is studying with you in the same college. He was saying that having this kind of relationship in college becomes a burden in various ways, while i thought differently. So through this post i will try to bring out the positive as well as the negative side and will leave you to decide whats best for you.

My friend says that once in this kind of relationship you dont give time to your old friends. You end up spending more time with her. This i feel is true as it as your girlfriend being near you gives you the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her but at the same time gives you less time to spend with you old friends. I have seen nobody till date who has been able to maintain the balance between his friends and girl friend or maybe like they say grass is always greener on the side. I mean what if his friends feel he does not spend the same amount of time with him while what if he feels that the time he is giving his friends now should be sufficent. While the usual pros and cons of having a gf are always there so i dont think there is any point of elaborating them.

I guess the thing is that both sides miss some essential facts like the Guy forgets that maybe down the line his friends might feel hurt because the place which they occupied in his life is now taken by someone else while his friends become a little self centered as they feel that their place is being threatened but they miss the point that as the guy is happy maybe this is what he always wanted. They forget to him to his personal space.

In short all this is crap with each side being adamnant that they are correct as his friends feel he has changed while he feels that his friends have changed or become more hostile towards thus both sides lose out good frienship in the long run. Sometimes i wish things like these should not come with a price attached.

PS:With this post i would like all those people who ever had a gf within the same college please share their experince so that others can learn

The Daring Couples

It seems an eternity since i wrote something on the blog and I am sorry about that(i guess that sorry is directed only to the blog).I somehow felt a sudden surge to write today so i said to myself it is now or never, now here i am writing lets hope it turns out to be a good one.

A week ago i had gone to watch the movie Rock on and i was walking towards Wave cinema through the lanes behind Westgate mall and i saw a couple(by a couple i mean a boy and a girl these days couples can be of same sex too) smooching each other in broad daylight. I said to myself wtf i mean it is just 6'o clock in the evening. Though seeing me they got a little embarrassed and stopped but i didnt bother and i just walked ahead. I was amazed at their guts as those lanes arent deserted, people do walk by so a lot of risk is involved.

Then this couple which i saw in Rajouri Market went a few steps ahead. It was some months ago and time was around 9pm and this sardar was driving his car and side by side his hands were at certain places in and around the woman's body(i hope you get the drift). They were enjoying the moment rather than being worried about the fact that whether or not anyone was watching them. Though my friend and I walked back home laughing.

Now what i am gonna tell you about is just amazing. I mean how many girls would have the balls to be smooching their boyfriends in a mall that is just a 15 minutes walk from their home. And as her luck turned out one of the aunties living in their neighbhourhood saw her doing that atleast that is what the girl thought initially. So she took a bold step and dictated this incident to the ladies son but it turned out to her chagrin that the aunty had not seen them. And that guy being a friend told me this and the funny point is that girl lives near my house and all the nearby auntied keep praising her "kitni sharif laadki hai".LOL

So next time be a little carfeul when coochioing with your boyfriend and girlfriend as you never know who might see you or who might write about you on his or her blog. And if possible if someone out there have done these kind of things in public please do tell me why do you do it?

Engineering in India

Well its been a long time since i wrote anything on the blog by long time i mean very long so i am back here trying to update it and i specifically choose this topic as somehow it is related to my heart. So here is my 10 cents on this issue..

Hi i am Ankit Anand an engineering student currently in my 4 year.I am a student at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and i am pursuing Information & Technology. This is was just that you know my credentials before you say who is this guy.Now back to the point when i entered college i was pretty excited and hoping that i would be able to build some cool stuff learn a lot of practical things and would end up making life easier for common people by building something, but all my dreams were shattered just for the simple fact that engineering in India is a joke..

There are many reasons for this but i will state a few which i think are relevant in my case first would be lack of good teachers by good i mean many of them still believe in rote method that existed in school. For proof all i can say is there no marks for practical knowledge all they want you to do is mug up a book and vomit it out in the paper rather then evaluating us on projects where we get to apply concepts, during one of the vivas a teacher asked me why do you come to college i wanted to say to learn but i kept quiet he said it is obvious you all come here to get "MARKS",i was like wtf i mean just because you have that thinking does not mean everybody else does..But believe me in my class you will hardly find people running after knowledge it is marks all the way and i can say this safely after my 3 year stint and NSIT.

At this point some of the readers who know me would say how can i challenge their integrity because i am not among the marks i mean i can assure you i am in the bottom 30 and i am proud of it just for the simple fact that during my 3 year tenure here i have still stood by my principles nothing has deterred me not even marks not even teachers i am here to learn and that is what i will do and for those who think they are better then anyone who are not among the marks well if you are really that good then why not make some technology that would be able to change the world(just before you say fuck you at this point what about the other challenge why not do a project in a field against some other guy who you think is not better then you being avg scorer lets see then who produces better results because there can be possibility that he or she can have better knowledge in that subject).

I remember this incident that happened in 3 semester our electronics teacher asked can we measure potential just with this question he was able to bamboozle all the girls in the class as most of them said yes the answer is no we always measure potential difference. And the irony is most of the gals who were able to answer this question were toppers in my class i am sure many guys in my class didnot knew the answer but were saved as somebody did.The reason is that many people were not able to answer beacuse you generally do not find these kind of things in the books this kind of stuff it is basically application of stuff you have learnt this is what people in India lack and they will continue lacking thanks to the education system of india.

Lastly this post was meant to encourage people to go for knowledge rather than marks as it will definitely pay you in the long run though you might suffer in the short run but then be prepared dont let the lesser mortals(ie people who have short term aims) deter you from you path,if you keep on fighting you will definitely achieve it and to find out more about not quitting and believing in yourself contact Ashwin Mukhija(aka Banku) and Siddharth Goyal(aka Robot) i am sure you can definitely take a leaf from there book and as for engineering in india it is a pain in the ass but hope and pray that your passion for engineering is not sucked by passion suckers namely toppers and teachers. There is lot more i want to write but i shall stop here dont want to make it boring.Bye and Take Care!!

M2l2

What is M2L2??I guess most of you must have been hearing this word on daily basis being used by many people but some of you do not know what it really means so here i am trying to explain what really is M2L2 and my tryst with M2L2..

In short M2L2 is a revolution made by the people for the people..As someone rightly said "Its the very principle on which this world is running"...Reader might be thinking how this is so? but it is true because people use it intentionally or unintentionally whether be it a fight or just for fun..People live on M2l2 knowingly or unknowingly as a diplomat who used people for getting his work done uses it after work is done verbally or just in his mind..or a hot headed might use it straight away..

The origin of M2l2 dates back in 2005 cant be sure of the month though..It was the strong will and grit of few great men who stumbled upon M2l2 it was initially used for fun sometimes during fight or even while jokes..Sometimes used to vent out frustration sometimes use to cool the surroundings especially before a fight..Basically the statement which the SOUL gang associates with M2L2 is "Spread the joy spread the M2L2 movement"..Now it has become so popular that people use it without even knowing its mean..Some also tell me it is openly used by gals..The movement associated with M2L2 is of freedom for the youth to voice their opinion but in responsible way..Well all those associated with M2L2 are reaping its benefits why not you??What is stopping you??

There will be a time when you can proudly say to your grandchildren and children that i was associated with movement like this which changed the face of earth..Those great men will be remembered and cherished for starting a movement like M2L2 and all others would proudly admit that we have walked with the giants who had the courage to make M2L2 a success..Long Live M2L2..M2L2 to all the readers..

India:My Country

Quite recently i met a british national on my way to some place he was a middle aged man,he must have been anything between 55 and 60 he asked me "how does it feel to be growing up in India in current times because your country is making a progress at such a fast pace in all the fields be it technical, managerial or business??"...I said definitely yes i feel very excited to be growing up in a time like this because the way we are developing it seems becoming a developing country does not look like a distant dream..Than he asked me "what do you think is the difference between a developed country and a developing country??"...this question was a little surprising for me i pondered over it a little and than i realized that answer was pretty obvious i said the difference is what is the worth of 1 citizen's live to the country..to what extent are they willing to go to save him either medically(ie if he has some rare disease or his life is in danger) or monetarily or for that in any matter he can be helped..before i could say anything more he said it was time for him to get off as this station..in the end he just said goodbye...

Later that night i pondered over this a little more and finally i formed an opinion over this to some readers it might sound a bit dictatorial but than that is what my opinion is..I think in a developing country an individual's life is not given any importance and even if the government whats to they cant due to the lack of resources at hand..Almost daily you might get to read in the newspaper that a 5 persons died due to the excessive heat and 10 died due to the riots and few more due to various other causes but inspite of all this we say that government doesnt take any action but i ask what due to expect them to do generate resources for a such a large population??You ask there is no water i say the amount of water we have cannot fulfill our needs even if try utilizing it in the best possible manner ya i agree over this in a developing country like ours there is definitely mismanagement of resources but even if they did still people would die of thirst still we crib so i say government is right to a certain extent in if it thinks for the future generation and saves resources for them which definitely would mean that present generation suffer to a certain extent..You might why should the present generation why not the next but i say to become a developed country 1 of the generation had to suffer so why not our generation..i say is each individual in a developing country like ours should consider himself a hero though at the end a few of us will be remembered and few of us will be will be the forgotten heroes but the day we become a developed country each hero will get his share of fame thats the day when i think we would truly be a developed country..so sacrifices made by the present generation would go a long way in making our nation a developed nation..I wish i could see a fully developed India in my lifetime and i also pray to god that i too would have played my role in making my nation a developed nation..

Sorry for writing on a topic like this as many of you wont be able to relate to it..
